AKC Canine Good Citizen
Prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test through individualized positive-reinforcement coaching, or schedule an evaluation when you and your dog are ready. Happy Jack’s offers evaluation-only appointments and three- or five-session preparation paths without guaranteeing a passing result.

Positive reinforcement
Training should help dogs learn without fear or intimidation. Happy Jack’s uses positive reinforcement to encourage useful choices, build understanding, and support a healthy relationship between dogs and their families.
Personalized plans
Dogs do not all learn in the same way or begin with the same needs. Your trainer considers your dog’s behavior, environment, history, and current skills alongside your family’s goals and ability to practice.
Core private-training paths are built around 12 private sessions. The evaluation helps determine which path and priorities are appropriate rather than asking a family to make that decision alone.
Owner education
Progress continues between lessons. Trainers teach owners how to give clear guidance, reinforce skills, respond consistently, and make training part of everyday routines.
Practical application
The goal is not a performance that exists only during a lesson. Training focuses on communication and skills your family can use at home, on walks, around distractions, and in the situations that shape your life together.
What to expect from your free first lesson
Your first lesson is approximately 45 minutes and requires no commitment to continue. It includes a real training and evaluation experience—not simply a sales conversation—so the trainer can begin understanding your dog and you can experience the Happy Jack’s approach.
The lesson itself is free. A $25 fully refundable scheduling deposit is required to reserve the appointment; it is not a charge for the lesson. After the evaluation, the trainer can discuss the training path that best fits your dog and family.
Training with clear boundaries
Happy Jack’s does not offer electric shock-collar training or off-leash training. We do not promise identical results for every dog. Instead, we provide thoughtful evaluation, clear coaching, and a training plan grounded in the needs of the dog and family.
